Meet Francesco Bonavita

I am Francesco Bonavita, a proud native of Rome, Italy. My journey into the domains of literature, language, and culture began amidst the timeless wonders of my formative years in my homeland.

With a genuine passion for Italian culture, I started my journey on a scholarly pursuit that culminated in the publication of “Giardino Italiano: An Intermediate Language Program” in 2011. This milestone marked the intersection of my academic endeavors and my commitment to sharing the beauty of Italian language and culture with the world.

I have a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature, and my academic exploration is deep into the Renaissance of Italy, a subject that continues to inspire my work to this day.

During my tenure as a professor of second language methodology at New York University, I had the opportunity to shape the pedagogical landscape and train future generations of language teachers. Today, I continue to share my expertise and insights as an instructor at the Italian Cultural Foundation of Casa Belvedere. I reach into cultural topics in Italy and teach Italian to eager learners.

My dedication to promoting a deeper understanding of Italian culture extends beyond the classroom. I write about a myriad of cultural topics, from the intriguing history of the Etruscans to the architectural marvels of Saint Peter’s Basilica, offering readers a glimpse into the history of Italian heritage.

I am glad to share my knowledge and passion for Italian culture with you all, and it’s a must-read book for every person looking to explore Venice with closer and more detailed understanding.
